This Florida Redbelly turtle was basking on Spatterdock lily pads, located in Central Florida.
It has been a lifelong passion of mine to capture, in photographs, the wonder and beauty of God's natural creation.A Floridian for 26 years, I have studied and learned to appreciate the native flora and fauna and the co-dependency between them. In 2002, I completed a Florida Master Naturalist course through the U of Florida, and have devoted the past 13 years of my life aiding in habitat restoration efforts at a local county preserve to benefit the endangered Florida Scrub Jay. I also participated in creating native Florida plant and wildflower demonstration gardens to help educate visitors on the best plants to benefit and attract wildlife such as birds, butterflies and other pollinators.
